I feel that my gray paper drawing isn't the best it could be and that I could definitely do better. However, I do feel happy given that this is the first attempt that I'd ever made for a charcoal drawing. Overall, my main problem is that I could have had more value on the face given that the image has a darker range. I also feel that I could've made the background one solid dark black wall and not a wall of squares. Some good details of the drawing I found were that I like the amount of detailing I put into the outlining and the fur. I feel the best part of the drawing is the tuft of fur sprouting from the lion's head. I feel I used everything I knew about line quality from the lessons we had during class. Overall, my main opinion over the gray paper drawing is that I could do better but that this is a very good first attempt at least to me. I am going to definitely keep going in the drawing classes offered at BHS, and I hope to grow more as an artist through these classes.
